About Austin Transport Nelson

Austin Transport Ltd was formed in 2005.  The founders of the company Bryan Austin and Lisa Thomson are both experienced truck drivers with years of experience between them.  

Bryan has over 22 years experience in the trucking industry beginning his trucking life with his father who was also a truck driver and moved on from there.  He drove road trains in Australia for over 9 years where he saved his money with the view to starting his own business.  Back in New Zealand Austin Transport began with just one truck which has grown over the years and he and Lisa now own a fleet of 13 trucks which include predominately Kenworth for line haul operations and late model Mitsubishi and Nissan trucks and tippers for local gravel cartage.  Lisa is also an experienced truck driver holding her class 5 licence.

Austin Transport has their own diesel mechanic on site in their own workshop who takes care of all maintenance and repairs which leads to less down time. They also employ over 20 people. The motto of Austin Transport is “We haul when you call, on time and on budget” which is very true of this company as they are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in all weathers.
